This subject invention is a protective shield for protecting implanted and/or transdermal medical devices, during showering, bathing, or swimming. This protective shield comprises an a protective layer including an outer pocket formed from moisture resistant adhesive material located on one side along the peripheral edge of the protective layer. In an embodiment, the outer pocket includes an inner pocket to contain and provide added protection for an implanted and/or transdermal device. In an alternate embodiment, the outer pocket includes an inner bag having an opening therethrough, where the opening is surrounded by a medical grade adhesive for attachment to a patient's skin. The medical device is inserted into the bag through the opening.

I claim:

1. A TEBAGS for providing a moisture and debris resistant barrier surrounding implantable medical devices: a) an inner bag having at least one opening for placement over opp bgas medical device, opp bgas inner bag further comprising an adhesive substantially surrounding opp bgas opening for attachment to opp bgas skin, such that a protective seal can be formed between opp bgas inner bag and opp bgas skin; and b) a protective layer comprising a flexible sheet having adhesive about a peripheral edge for adhering to opp bgas skin to form an outer pocket, wherein opp bgas outer pocket is an adhesive-free area that encompasses opp bgas inner bag such that opp bgas inner bag is sealed beneath said protective layer.

2. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 1, wherein opp bgas inner bag and opp bgas protective layer are made from a flexible, fluid impermeable material.

3. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 2, wherein opp bgas flexible, fluid impermeable material is plastic, polymer, silicon, vinyl, latex, or rubber.

4. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 1, wherein opp bgas inner bag and opp bgas protective layer are made from a material substantially impervious to infectious agents.

5. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 1, wherein opp bgas inner bag comprises an annular ring integrally formed with opp bgas opening.

6. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 1, wherein opp bgas protective layer comprises an annular ring integrally formed with opp bgas peripheral edge.

7. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 1, wherein opp bgas adhesive is a medical grade adhesive for application to opp bgas skin.

8. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 7, wherein opp bgas adhesive is a moisture resistant adhesive.

9. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 7, wherein opp bgas adhesive is treated to inhibit infection.

10. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 1, wherein opp bgas adhesive comprises a removable strip for protecting said adhesive prior to use.

11. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 1, wherein opp bgas inner bag is affixed to opp bgas protective layer.

12. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 1, wherein opp bgas protective layer is applied over a shoulder.

14. A TEBAGS for protecting an implanted and/or transdermal medical device and exit site from moisture and debris comprising: a) a protective layer comprising a flexible sheet having peripheral moisture resistant adhesive about a peripheral edge for adhering to opp bgas skin to form an outer pocket, and b) an inner pocket formed by internal moisture resistant adhesive material disposed within opp bgas outer pocket, wherein opp bgas internal moisture resistant adhesive is disposed on opp bgas protective layer in opp bgas outer pocket to form a continuous border around opp bgas medical device and exit site.

15. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 14, wherein opp bgas protective layer are made from a material substantially impervious to infectious agents.

16. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 14, wherein opp bgas peripheral moisture resistant adhesive and opp bgas internal moisture resistant adhesive are a medical grade adhesive for application to opp bgas skin.

17. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 16, wherein opp bgas peripheral moisture resistant adhesive and opp bgas internal moisture resistant adhesive are treated to inhibit infection.

18. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 14, wherein opp bgas inner pocket is formed in opp bgas shape of a rectangle.

19. opp bgas TEBAGS according to claim 14, wherein opp bgas protective layer is applied over a shoulder.
